PICSS is a think tank which is specifically focused on conflict and security studies. It has established a comprehensive, chronological and up-to-date database of anti-State violence in Pakistan. There is popular saying ”if you cant measure it you cant mange it”. If you are looking for statistics of militant attacks, types of militant attacks (suicide attacks, IED blasts, targeted killings etc.), casualties in militant attacks, district-wise distribution of militant attacks, security forces actions against militants, types of security forces actions, in any specific region during last one decade then you are at right place.
We believe in public access to information , hence soon after the launch of the database it will be free of charge. In the meanwhile you can write an Email at firstname.lastname@example.org and get the data you need for your research or understanding of the ongoing situation in Pakistan.
Your individual or institutional profile will be needed along with the purpose of the data usage. We require you to cite PICSS in your study , due to the rights of ownership over the information .
