In February, 177 overall incidents of anti-state violence and counter-insurgency operations were observed in which 198 people were killed while 246 others were injured. 407 suspects were arrested by the security forces while 21 people were kidnapped by the militants. As compared to January 2015, there has been almost 15pc decrease in overall violence, more than 110 pc decrease in number of deaths but more than 46pc increase in number of injuries. This reduction in overall violence can be attributed to various factors including tight measures adopted by the state post-Peshawar School Attack, security forces restraint of carrying out aerial strikes in the operational areas (North Waziristan & Khyber Agency), intelligence based operations across the
