An interactive session of Team #Pakistaniat with Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mahmood Hayat NI (M)

Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS) organized a visit of youth leaders and Team Pakistaniat members to Joint Staff Headquarters (JSHQ).

An interactive session with the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mahmood Hayat NI (M) was held. The session was attended by team PICSS and 28 youth leaders of team Pakistaniat from Karachi, Quetta, Swat, Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Rawalakot, Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The basic objective of this activity was to clear misconceptions in the minds of youth leadership regarding fifth generation warfare and disseminate the vision of Pakistaniat by General Zubair, so that they play their role more efficiently as influencers within the society.

An initial briefing was given by Director General Joint Intelligence & Information Operations Major General Shuja Anwar followed by an interactive session of youth leadership with CJCSC General Zubair.

DG JI &IO Major General Shuja highlighted that it is the appropriate forum to address the vibrant youth from all over Pakistan to project the bright and positive image of Pakistan which unfortunately gets no attention.

General Shuja highlighted that today Pakistan is much stronger as it has become 7th and only Muslim nuclear power with a very well-trained army. Pakistan played its significant role in UN peace keeping operations. General Shuja specifically highlighted the burning Kashmir issue and said that Quaid-e-Azam termed Kashmir as the jugular vein of Pakistan and people of Kashmir remain in the hearts of Pakistani people. We consider the division of partition incomplete without Kashmir. Waters from Kashmir green the lands of Pakistan. General Shuja mentioned Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gillani who said that “When we face toward qibla during prayer, Pakistan comes in the way and I undo.” Kashmir is geographically, democratically & ideological connected with Pakistan for so many justified reasons.

Kashmir conflict has now become a nuclear flash point for south Asia. India does not want to accept any resolution in favor of Kashmir. Human rights violations in Kashmir are an issue of grave concern for the world, especially for Pakistan. Thousands have lost their lives in Kashmir while Indian forces have been conducting human right atrocities in the entire occupied Kashmir. General Shuja paid his respects and said that he salutes Kashmiri people that despite all atrocities of the Indian government the spirit of Kashmiri people remains very high for the freedom struggle. Revoking of article 370 and 35A is India’s unilateral action and is the clear disregard of United Nations Security Council on Kashmir issue. India is trying to change the status of Kashmir deliberately by violating international laws. Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts resulted in a discussion of Kashmir issue at the highest forum of the United Nations after a long time span of 50 years. Pakistan’s political and military leadership are ready to go to any extent against India on Kashmir issue.

General Shuja assured the youth leaders that they have a bright future ahead, yet you all have to work day in and day out to make this land prosper. Pakistan achieved a lot in such a short span and it has enough resources. We just need to build our institutions and improve social justice according to the ideology of Pakistan. People of this country need to keep their hopes alive. Concluding his speech, General Shuja said that we can, we must and we will Inshallah make this country one of the best nations in the world according to the vision of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal.

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mahmood Hayat NI (M) greeted the audience with his opening remarks and opened the forum for interaction. Questions were asked by team Pakistaniat and CJCSC gave answers to them.

While concluding the session, General Zubair expressed his satisfaction regarding the awareness of youth leadership on the matters of national importance. He stressed upon the continuous working and devotion of youth leadership towards the development of the country. A certificate awarding ceremony was held afterward in which President PICSS Amb (R) Abdul Basit and Chairman PICSS Major General (R) Muhammad Saad Khattak accompanied CJCSC on the stage.

Amb (R) Abdul Basit while giving his vote of thanks said that JSHQ is playing an optimistic & influential role in leading youth of the country towards positive activities. He further expressed his desire that the concept of Pakistaniat will be further propagated in the other cities of the country as well.
